The gold standard in terms of video analysis.  Swim Smooth are renowned worldwide for their in depth video analysis services and methods of coaching a swimmer as an Individual to get the very best out of their swim stroke.  No two swimmers swim the same way, so we don’t believe every swimmer should be coached the same way. We offer this service in our own Private Endless Pool in NOrth Swindon.

How an Endless Pool works

Our Endless Pool facility - The pool

Our Endless Pool is a state-of-the-art indoor training environment designed specifically for focused, technique-based swim coaching. Think of it as a treadmill for swimmers – a compact pool with a high-powered counter-current motor that holds you in place while you swim. This setup allows for uninterrupted swimming and detailed, real-time stroke analysis.

The pool features a fully adjustable current, with speeds ranging up to 1:08 per 100m, making it suitable for swimmers of all levels – from beginners to experienced triathletes. We maintain the water at a comfortable 29°C, ideal for technical work without causing fatigue from overheating.

Housed in a custom-built, heated cabin, our Endless Pool creates a calm and private space for learning and improvement. As a coaching environment, it’s second to none. It allows head coach Jason Tait to closely observe your stroke from multiple angles, helping to identify and correct even the smallest inefficiencies in your technique.

To further enhance your session, we may also use additional tools such as coach-to-swimmer headsets for real-time feedback and Swim Smooth Guru stroke capture technology for detailed analysis when needed.

Our Endless Pool Facility - Changing

We have changing facilities in the pool house complete with a rinse shower for before and after your session

Our Endless Pool Facility - Location

Our pool is based in North Swindon, Wiltshire.  This is just a short drive from the A419 and just off of the main north Swindon arterial route, Thamesdown Drive.

I am lucky enough to work from home so don’t be surprised that we are not on an industrial estate.

What to expect in your Endless Pool session

At South West Swim, our goal is not just to improve your swimming – but to do so in a relaxed, supportive, and friendly environment. Every session is personalised to suit you and your swimming needs.

We begin with a short warm-up in our private Endless Pool. This gives you a chance to get used to the feel of the pool and allows us to adjust the pace to suit your stroke and ability. Once you’re comfortable, we’ll film your stroke from various angles to either analyse in detail (in our video analysis sessions) or to observe and guide in real-time (for 1-to-1 coaching).

Following this, we’ll get straight back into the water to start working on stroke improvements based on what we’ve seen.

After your session, you’ll receive copies of your swim footage, a detailed session notes file highlighting the key areas we worked on, a personalised technique training plan, and access to SwimSmooth.guru (depending on the session type booked).
