South West Swim’s Weekly Tip: if you struggle with bi-lateral breathing it is worth spending the time to overcome it. Spend some time learning to breathe on your least comfortable side and perform some sets breathing to this side only. 9 times out of 10 it feels worse to you than it looks to the coach. Persevere and build into breathing every 3 strokes, it’s surprising how quickly it will start to feel right. The ability to be able to breathe to both sides is an underrated skill in open water swimming, nail it now ready for the new season.
